These terms apply when you browse We Used This, create an account, publish a memory, or purchase a Supporter Bundle. By using the site you accept them.
The service
We Used This is a free public directory that documents retired and shut-down AI products: what they were, when they closed, and what replaced them. Browsing, search, and account features are provided free of charge. The underlying product dataset is published under the CC BY 4.0 license in a public GitHub repository.
Accounts
Sign-in is optional and handled by Google or GitHub. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your provider account secure. You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion at support@weusedthis.com.
Your content
Memories you publish remain yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display them on the site. Do not publish content you are not allowed to share, content that is unlawful, or content that infringes other people's rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Supporter Bundle purchases
The optional Supporter Bundle is a digital package (dataset export, supporter certificate, and wallpapers) sold through our payment service provider, which acts as the merchant of record shown at checkout and handles payment, tax, and receipts. Prices are pay-what-you-want with a stated minimum. Delivery is digital and immediate. If you did not receive what you purchased, contact support@weusedthis.com and we will make it right. Supporter status does not change how the free directory works for anyone.
Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service: no scraping at volumes that degrade the site, no attempts to break authentication or storage, no automated bulk account creation, and no use of the site to break the law.
Warranty and liability
The site is provided "as is". We work to keep records accurate, but catalog entries can contain errors and the service can change or be discontinued. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Significant changes will be reflected in the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
