Verification notes

Shutdown: January 6, 2026 is an inferred archive-observation proxy: that preserved original homepage explicitly says the service has shut down. It is not a verified December 31 cutoff, first notice or exact final-access day. The current original was read as archived HTML, including the closure banner that the web text reader omitted. The retained page documents a complete online voice studio, not only a single speech-model API. Scope is the original PlayHT text-to-speech service; the company, Meta technology, separately described PlayAI agents and unrelated current copycat sites are not declared closed. Launch day, actual cutoff hour and time zone are unverified. Closure source

Location: United States · Palo Alto. The matching company-managed voice-AI profile links play.ai and explicitly distinguishes Agents (play.ai) from TTS (play.ht), listing Palo Alto headquarters. Use the operator-headquarters city fallback, not Meta headquarters or a similarly named Munich sports company. GeoNames provides the representative city point rounded to two decimals, not a street address or server region. Location source · Coordinate source
