Google Opal original whole-service shutdown FAQ ↗ · Checked 14 Oct 2026

Verification notes
Shutdown
Google’s original developer FAQ expressly says the standalone hosted Opal service at opal.google.com and Gems made by Labs will turn off on November 17, 2026. Opal workflows will no longer run interactively after that day, although plain workflow files stay in each user’s Google Drive. The latter are retained files, not continued Opal service. The September 30 Google blog announces Opal’s November shutdown without the precise day; the FAQ supplies that day. This record covers the independent Opal builder with its own user entry and complete natural-language build/edit/share/run task, not individual user-created mini-apps, Gemini Gems/Skills, Google AI Studio, the Breadboard source repositories, or model IDs. Opal remains scheduled, not already off; no cutoff hour/timezone is given. The official opal.google.com sign-in page supplies an inline purple product favicon, matched to the opal.google product favicon. The SVG source was extracted unchanged as a self-contained path; owner rights remain with Google, no trademark license inferred. No account, creation, billing or data export was tested. Location
United States · Mountain View. Google’s official product-announcement site identifies Google LLC at a Mountain View corporate contact address. Used as the operator-city fallback; it does not locate the individual experiment team or hosting infrastructure. Coordinates use the GeoNames populated-place point rounded to two decimal places for the city-level globe marker, not an office or server address. Location source · Coordinate source
