Verification notes
- Shutdown
- Torben Noer’s June 2, 2020 reply on IBM’s original community explicitly says Watson Analytics was discontinued in June 2019 and could not have been used since July. An original IBM agenda identifies him as an IBM worldwide business-analytics specialty-architects leader; that historical role is independently documented, rather than inferred from the forum host. Christopher Penn’s original February 11, 2026 retrospective, describing his direct work with the Watson Analytics team, independently confirms the 2019 sunset. The displayed June 2, 2020 is therefore an inferred closed-by statement date. The actual service-ending month is separately retained as June 2019; its final day, cutoff time zone and earliest announcement day are unknown. The whole named cloud analysis application is covered; Cognos Analytics, Watson Studio, watsonx and the separate Watson Analytics for Social Media are not declared closed. Armonk is a product-period corporate-headquarters fallback, not a product-team office. Closure source

- Launch
- The September 2014 announcement described forthcoming beta availability. An exact first public-use day was not independently established here; announcement and company founding are not substituted.
- Location
- United States · Armonk. IBM’s original 2018 Form 10-K identifies its corporate headquarters and principal executive offices in Armonk, New York. This is a sourced operator-headquarters city fallback near the service period, not a confirmed Watson Analytics team location. Coordinates are the GeoNames locality point rounded to two decimal places, not the office address. Location source · Coordinate source
