Vellum original Personal Assistant Platform shutdown FAQ ↗ · Checked 20 Oct 2026

Verification notes

Shutdown: The original Vellum product page describes a complete account-based personal AI assistant with identity, persistent memory, permissions, and tasks across email, GitHub, Slack and other connected tools. The original shutdown FAQ says its Personal Assistant Platform closes November 2, 2026: assistants hosted in Vellum’s cloud cease, vellum.ai login ends, hosted data is deleted, and active subscriptions are cancelled with prorated refunds. The same FAQ explicitly excludes fully self-hosted assistants, which can continue without Vellum cloud dependencies; the open-source personal-assistant harness remains available although Vellum will cease active maintenance, and a founding engineer plans a separate fork. This record is only the complete managed Personal Assistant service, not the whole Vellum brand, all assistants, the open-source harness, or unrelated earlier Vellum developer tooling. The notice has no visible publication day, cutoff clock time or time zone, so announcedAt stays null; November 2 is an operator-stated future service day and completion remains planned. The product launch is described only as earlier in 2026; no day was established. Vellum’s original team page identifies CEO Akash Sharma, and its company-managed LinkedIn profile lists New York as headquarters; this is an operating-city label, not proof of a registered office or hosting location. The local path-only icon adapts the original first-party SVG favicon: it preserves the white V path while replacing the radial-gradient rounded tile with a flat green path for self-contained catalog display. This is adapted operator artwork; no open logo license is asserted. No customer account, export, refund or self-host migration was tested. Closure source

Launch: The operator says this Personal Assistant service launched earlier in 2026, but its exact first public launch day is not stated in the opened original sources. The Vellum company’s 2023 founding year is not this product’s launch day.
